Why practice of male circumcision is still continuing like before ?

It's pretty much unheard of in the UK and Europe except when done for religious reasons (Jews and Muslims) but I gather there are still a lot of Americans (non-Jewish and non-Muslim) who do this surgery to their babies. Funny that the US is also about the only country that still allows declawing of cats. Savages.
